Lucilia was born in Ala'Mhigo about 3 years after Gaius Van Baelsar captured the city-state for the Empire. Her family was working-class fishermen and blacksmiths just trying to make ends meet, something only made worse given the location and the Empire having an iron fist on the city-state. Eventually, in 1572 at the age of 12, Lucilia and her family would be smuggled out of Ala Mhigo thanks to the efforts of Yda Hext. Her family would then make their way to Limsa Lominsa and see great success there, and have a chance at a normal life.Lucilia's happiest memories were simply just going fishing with her Dad and seeing her Mom make a brand new weapon for a buyer. However her worst memories was living in an Empire controlled Ala Mhigo, facing bullying/racism for her pale skin, living in poor living conditions, in general it was not a good time for her which molded her into a hard-working woman that won't take shit from no one.,Lucilia loved her parents more than anything, especially since she was an only child and all. No real conflicts, but an unbreakable bond.
Luci attended Limsa's local school and became accustomed to the relations between Limsa, Ul'Dah, and Gridania, as well as Ishgard and the Empire. Thanks to this education, she was able to understand why the world is in the state that it is and understand that she's not the only one to have suffered from the empire. In short, she knows her ABCs, what's right and what's wrong, and is academically well-educated.Lucilia's first and still current job is working for Degen Magazine as their Journalist by day and Sukkal by night. Degen helped her explore her sexuality, be confident in her beauty, and allowed her to be welcomed by a community that respects her for her not for what she brings to the table, and allows her to grow as a person.The event that changed Lucilia forever was the Calamity. Since that was the day that she lost her home, her parents, everything dear to her, and became an orphan. This event would give her her iconic scar on her left eye that she's known for and fully set her down a path of independence and growth that made her the woman that she is today.She was always a follower of Halone, which is evident in how much of a fighter she is. Her Echo allows her to utilize multiple jobs and swap back and forth between them. It wasn't until she joined Degen magazine did she became one of Menphina’s Sukkal's and became a mix of Warrior and Court.She had this brief fling with a one Highlander woman. This highlander made her open up as a lesbian and was the foundation to exploring her sexuality, it only lasted for about a few months.My character's truly first and closest friend is this roegaedyn woman by the name of Cherry Bloom, throughout all the ups and downs, Cherry has always been there for her when she needed it most and is the friend you may not necessarily want but definitely need in your life and Luci wouldn't have it any other way.
Luci has lost her family, been betrayed by the Ul'Dahn government thanks to the Bloody Banquet, has lost comrades in the Dragonsong War, the Ala Mhigan/Doman Wars, the Werlyt Rebellion, the Bozjan Rebellion, and the Final Days. Lucilia copes with it all by just moving forward and remembering their legacies.Lucilia has the Echo, which is how she's able to swap back and forth between different jobs. She is also a humble blacksmith and fisherman in her free time.Luci's role models were Ul'Dahn's gladiators, who encouraged her to fight for her own goals and aspirations, and Cherry Bloom, who encouraged her to grow as a person and not see the world as Black and White. Finally, Koreina encouraged her to be herself, embrace her sexuality fully, and fully interact with her community.In modern times, Lucilia is now the security for Degen Magazine’s GLiTCH venue, having instead become a sort of free agent with becoming a Court for another venue while offering courtesan services outside of venue work, having never forgetting the virtues, lessons, and philosophy of what Degen strives to be in the BDSM and Leather Culture to this very day.
